Description
The House of Tales is a research and documentation centre on oral literature. The House is currently being fitted out with books, magazines, audio and video, digital editorial and other material. It benefits from the contributions of scholars and enthusiasts, from works awarded in the literary competition.
At its centre, stands a wood structure, which recalls a type of “memory wardrobe”. Some photos recall “vallanate” (feats of the inhabitants of Vallo di Nera) and stories which can be read, with others, in the books on the wall between the windows.
Outside the house there is the live section of narrators, such as Riziero Flamini, the shepherd-story teller of Vallo, right out in front. They enchant with their ability to remember and recount their life-story and traditions in poems or prose.
For visits, contact the Municipality of Vallo di Nera at 0743/616143, from 9 am to 2pm.
